Default bleeding gums

My chocolate lab last week ate some foil that my husband left on the
counter. We saw a little blood but called a local vet and said it most
likely would pass in his stool. We watched him closely to make sure it
didn't block anything and a day later he threw up with half digested
foil. It has been a couple of days and today i noticed that his gums
are red. Is there anything i can put on them to heal them?
