Don't you just love it when...
there is a loose stray, and the neighbors just ASSUME that it's one of
yours? I mean, if there IS a loose dog, it must belong to the crazy dog people! roflmao Neighbor guy came over, and asked if one of my dogs was missing. Apparently some gold colored dog was sitting on my front steps, then walked away. Then it walked by, a lanky, muttly pariah dog, the urban Dingo. Looks NOTHING like my dogs, I guess it had pointy ears and a pointy nose like Harry. But, it must be one of mine, right? Looks NOTHING like my dogs, I guess it had pointy ears and a pointy nose like Harry. But, it must be one of mine, right? I came home to a neighborhood dog in my back yard. The gate was closed, and had been when I left, so I couldn't figure out how it got back there. When I took him home, the owners said he had got loose and they didn't know where he was until I returned him. I finally figured it out when another neighbor told me that she had just popped "my" dog back into the backyard when it was out loose the other day. Oddly enough, the dog didn't even look like any of mine. That was back when I did a lot of rescue, though, so maybe not being able to keep up with what the crazy dog lady's dogs all looked like wasn't so unreasonable at the time. -- Paula "Anyway, other people are weird, but sometimes they have candy, so it's best to try to get along with them." Whether or not he knows your dogs up close & personal enough to ID them he took enough interest to note the stray dog sitting on your porch and passing by. Strays tend not to camp out on stranger's porches as a matter of habit. -- Tara |
