Default outdoor Kennel flooring for 2 dogs

what would be the best way to go, rocks, cement, or man-made fiber?

The best flooring for living on or for pooping on?

For the former, I like hardwood with area carpets. For the
latter, I'm thinking of putting in gravel over landscape fabric
on top of my very clayey potty area.

I've thought about putting gravel down at the top of my yard
where the dogs have worn down the grass, but it would be
tough to pick up poop on gravel, I think.

The kennel I use has gravel in their outdoor runs. They
lime it about once/month and dig it all out and replace it
about once/year.

Repealing the estate tax will cost a family earning about $70,000/year
an additional $500/year or so in additional income taxes
