Egg white-like substance in dog's urine
Occasionally when my 11yr old cockapoo urinates, there¹s a white
substance in her urine, similar looking to the white of an egg. I thought it might be related to something she had eaten because I first noticed it the day after the first (and only) time I gave her yogurt to eat. A few days ago, I gave her a sizeable amount of skinless chicken breast. Yesterday, I gave her something similar to chicken jerky and ³Training Treats², which looks to be some kind of beef that is sweet and smokey, also similar to jerky but softer (she LOVES it). She has had that white substance in her urine for the past 3 days. Not all the time, but she has been licking the area from where she pees. Does anyone know what this could be? |

Does anyone know what this could be? It sounds like an infection of some sort. What did the vert say? -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

If anyone's following this post, went to the vet today with urine sample, there's no urinary tract infection. Doc says vaginitis. He's put her on antibiotics which may or may not help. Vaginitis comes and goes on its own, he said. He was familiar with what he called the "milky substance" I was describing about her urine. He said it wasn't a vaginal yeast infection (which he said was rare) because the tissue around that area wasn't inflammed, red and swollen as it would be if thats what my dog had. |
