Default Any comments on Fox Terrier (Wired) and biting

We are looking at the Fox Terrier (wired) and a couple of web sites
indicate that they bite sometimes. Has anyone had experience with
them.

Thanks

I've had 2 fox terriers and never had a biting problem. Pretty small
sample, but I would say that all dogs are capable of becoming biters.
Terriers are a tough lot and many will try to intimidate their humans to
gain the upper hand. Training is a necessity for all puppies.

As with any other dog behavior, biting is the fault of the owner. My
family has owned 8 wires over the years, and the only times they bite
people is accidently -- a pupply cutting teeth or a person getting
between two battling wires.

Dogs bite. This is something that owners should understand. I am not saying
dogs should be allowed to bite, but dogs do sometimes bite-sometimes for
reasons people don't understand. If you have a zero tolerance policy toward
biting, then no dog will be suitable for you.

Or rather, you should be willing and able to train the dog to:

1: not bite in play or frustration, and
2: nip softly when nipping in pain.

The era of moral relativism between those who practice or condone
terrorism and those nations who stand up against it must end. Moral
relativism doesn't have a place in this discussion and debate. There's
no moral way to sympathize with grossly immoral actions. And by so doing,
and by trying to do that, unfortunately a fertile field has been created
in which terrorism has grown.
