It seemed like a good idea at the time...
For the record: I would like it understood that EVERYTIME I have taken the
Rugrats for a walk in the ravine with the stroller, the Independence Brothers have REFUSED to ride in the stroller--no matter how long the walk, how steep the hill, how tired the legs. So the other afternoon, I decide that I'll take all three puppies (4yr dog, 2yr twins) for a walk, and since the stroller is never used I figured I'd just use leashes for everyone. I saw quite a few people grinning with amusement at the site of this women walking two toddlers and a dog on leashes... All of a sudden, both boys decide they are too tired to walk any farther. The dog is getting a little frustrated at the slow pace of the walk. I pick up one boy to carry, figuring I could take turns, but the brother was having none of it. I don't want to have Macula's leash looped over my arm if I'm carrying a kid there...what to do? We finally get home, me carrying a 25# boy in each arm, dog's leash wrapped around my waist and through belt loops. I swear, I will NEVER leave home without the stroller again (at least until the boys are ? old). Marie Pictures of Macula and the puppies at |

There were new baby tiger cubs on display at the zoo for the first time, so I decided we should go see them. 3 year old by the hand, 2 year old in a stroller, 1 year old in a backpack. Only she was a hefty 1 year old (said child is now 11.5 and the most stringbean kid I can imagine!). We went, we saw tiger cubs, we went back to the car and strapped everyone in and back home. UGH - not a good choice. We live and learn, eh? -- Janet B www.bestfriendsdogobedience.com http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bestfr...bedience/album |

And how's your back Marie? Surprisingly, my back has never sufferred from parenthood (so far). Part of it, I think, is that I so often end up carrying both at once: since they have always been close in weight, with one on each arm the weightload is balanced and the spine remains straight. I remember a day when I was doing daycare. There were new baby tiger cubs on display at the zoo for the first time, so I decided we should go see them. 3 year old by the hand, 2 year old in a stroller, 1 year old in a backpack. There are times when we are going somewhere a stroller won't work (too many stairs). Before the boys could reliably walk, and even now if it is any distance, I will "totem pole" us: one boy in the Baby Trekker on my front, the other in a backpack carrier on my back, our three heads one on top of each other like a totem pole. Once again, the equal distribution of weight keeps my back from hurting, but I will admit I *don't* bend over to pick up anything if it drops ;-) Only she was a hefty 1 year old (said child is now 11.5 and the most stringbean kid I can imagine!). The Sumatran Tiger display at the Toronto Zoo is two large enclosures that are well viewed from an overhead path, leading up the hill to the African displays. The path never seemed so long baefore the boys: walk three steps, lift boys so they can see the tigers, put them down, walk three steps, lift boys so they can see tigers, put them down, lather, rinse, repeat ad nauseum.
