Default Treadmills?

Hi all, just a quick question, has anyone used a dog treadmill to walk
their dogs before?

I have hurt my back and can not walk far - i have no one to walk my dog but
know someone with a doggie treadmill - its been over a week since my boy has
had a walk and he is driving me crazy. I dont know if this is a good idea or
not.

any comments??

Cin

Hi Cin,
I used to put my dogs on my dad's human treadmill after I injured my back.
Yes they got exercize, but i don't think it was mind expanding, and seemed
to not satisfy their energy needs. There was never any issue with them, I
just didn't get the experience that I expected.
THEN, I got an ATV. And running the dogs along side that really gives them
a workout.
We baled hay last night, and Reka trotted along side the tractor every
step, up and down the field until we were done. She slept like a rock, so
the exercise does not need to be aggressive, just constant. If you live in
the city you might consider a segway!

Thanks - I just got given another 2 weeks off - Poor doggie - i feel so
bad!!

I have talked mum into taking him to obedience on sunday, i am in the top
class, but as mum has never done it before i am going to sign her into the
beginners class with him, just so he can get out and have a play with his
friends!

I am also going to take him around to their place for a few hours and lock
her dogs up (my boy plays too rough for them - they are both old) it will
take him a couple of hours to run around and pee on everything!!

Thanks for the ideas

Cin
