interestingly, Google only returns a total of 39 hits for me
in *all* groups i've posted to. nineteen were in *breeds, 16
were in *behavior, one in *health, and three in ARK.

what was your point, anyway?

You honestly think you only posted 39 times in ALL groups?

that's what i get when Googling on my address. i don't know
why there's such a huge discrepancy between the two numbers.
and, FWIW, Googling on other posters email addresses shows
markedly lower numbers than those on Google's stats page.

BTW, I got it off google. And I had no point. it's about
this group. I found it interesting

you had to have had a point, or you wouldn't have looked it up
or posted it. or, do you make a habit of going around doing
random, pointless things?

I just think it's either funny or sad that you are so
obsessive compulsive that you have to post a comment on
EVERYTHING, including stats.

i'm sorry, i didn't realize i wasn't allowed to comment. what
funny and/or sad is that you have such a bee in your bonnet
that you felt the need to look up the stats and post them in
the first place.

In fact, you posted more than the second and third posters
combined. INCLUDING the PW.

IDTS.

interestingly, we'll never know how frequently *you* post, as
you do not allow your posts to be archived. however, for the
posts that have not fallen off Google yet, you are pretty much
i a dead heat with me:

There really is a discrepancy in the numbers. If you do an
author search for shelly's posts to rec.pets.dogs.breeds
since 1 June, you get 46 hits. If you do a search for posts
since 15 May you get 127 hits and if you do a search for
posts since 16 May you get 117, both of which are closer to
what the "about" report shows but neither matches. Getting
an accurate post count should not be a difficult problem.
How do you account for the difference in the numbers?

i'm getting 39 total hits for June 1-June 15.

http://tinyurl.com/cktcr

i wonder what accounts for *that* discrepancy? not that it
matters. the stats are clearly screwed up no matter how you
slice it.

If you do a search for posts since 15 May you get 127 hits

i get 74!

http://tinyurl.com/9qt6u

and if you do a search for posts since 16 May you get 117,

i get 71. still an inexplicable shrinkage, but also, still,
not the same number you're getting.

How do you account for the difference in the numbers?

clearly, i'm doing something to manipulate the numbers. or,
equally likely, i spend 24/7 sitting naked i front of my
computer, posting while i rock back and forth, drool, and
cackle maniacally. it's a pretty good gig if you can get it.

That has nothing to do with what I posted about the
discrepancy in the number of posts by author based on the
contents of the "From:" header. There's a mismatch, which
suggests very strongly that the numbers being reported are
unreliable.

That's for all newsgroups, rather than just
rec.pets.dogs.breeds or rec.pets.dogs.behavior.

as was the search i did on myself.

and that's 40 posts.

And do you REALLY think i post as much as you?

apparently, you do. i say apparently, because i think it's
pretty clear that Google's numbers are unreliable.

exactly! according to your search and Google's group stats, i
posted more to individual groups than i did in total.
clearly, that's not possible.

Well, the *important* thing is that it gives Diddy an excuse
to do a middle-aged version of following you around and
pulling your pigtails.
