Default Chihuahua w/ either a tumor or a shunt.....need help!

Melissa: We have a 12 yr old tea cup chi and for some reason we also have
the same problem as you. We have watch her cloy and we found sometimes it is
the food she ate ,as she will not eat any type of dog food so she has food
as we do. One of the problems we found is the red dye in hot dogs she has a
seizure reaction to them. The other is stress can bring on a seizure when to
many people or activities are going on ,this will bring a seizure.
Our vet says usual stress and red dye seems upset her system and human food
is not great but this breed are prone to stay away from dog food.

I hope this helps: wipe her down with a cool face cloth and you will see
her start to relax it may take a little while but it has always help ours to
come out of it.

om...
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I have a 6 year old Chi
who has had 2 "episodes" of coma and seizure. The episodes were
identical. He stopped eating, got an infection, I found him in a
hypoglycemic coma and having a seizure and his temperature had dropped
at least six degrees. The episodes were nearly 3 YEARS apart from
each other. This last one happened last week. I took him to the vet,
they gave him some glucose, stopped his seizure, warmed him up, and
referred us to a specialist. He was in the hospital for two days,
glucose counted, and was released last Tuesday. We are going for a
bile acid test on Monday - as they are trying to rule out a tumor.
Both the vet and the specialist seemed bewildered at his condition.
They took x-rays, had an ultra sound and found nothing.

Has anyone been through this?
