Plea to small dog owners
Please Please Please check your fences. We skirted what would have been a
very bad situation this morning. The neighbors have a Yorkie that slips out of the chain link fence next door. Today was not the first day have found her in my backyard, but it was the first day she had slipped under the fence when my dog, a bullmastiff, was outside. The little dingbat headed straight for my dog in terrier mode. Thank goodness for training (STOP! Leave it.) and a dog that is used to small things (ferrets). That Yorkie was flipped a couple of times, but not bitten or stepped on. I spent a good hour this morning "tent spiking", rocking, and wiring the chain link on that side. I still don't know if I found all of the possible spots. It is a sturdy enough fence for all but the tiniest of dogs. |
