Default Incontinence after sugery

My four year old Papillon underwent surgery yesterday to remove a large
bladder stone. He has been urinating on his bedding, a lot. Does anyone
know if this is typical right after surgery, or if I should be concerned.

Thanks for any insight.

Well obviously I did. She is out of town, at a conference. Unless there is
an emergency, I cannot contact her right now. I am just wondering if anyone
else has a dog that has had this type of surgery, and what the expectations
are afterward.

Perfectly normal. The bladder has had a lot of trauma with the
surgery. There are some underpads that you should be able to pick up
at a pharmacy that you can put between the dog and the bedding. The
pads are used in nursing homes.

It takes some time for the muscles to control it again. I'm sure he will be
okay once healed, although it may take some time. Could be months, fwiw, if
a lot of dissection was done.
