For Mustang Sally
While Greyhounds are anything but new to you, Roy is the first
to spend significant time with my dogs. In his first few daycare hours here, he's shown himself to a real gentleman. Unfortunately, I've been unable to get pictures of him where he's not sniffing or preparing to sniff. http://www.rocky-dog.com/Daycare/Roy01.jpg http://www.rocky-dog.com/Daycare/Roy02.jpg http://www.rocky-dog.com/Daycare/Roy03.jpg http://www.rocky-dog.com/Daycare/Roy04.jpg Roy's a tall boy, standing at least 3 inches higher than 24" Rocky. -- --Matt. Wow, he's got quite a lot of scars. (Take him to a meet & greet and everyone will ask if that's where they beat him to make him run.) That Greyhound skin peels off the dog like skin off a grape, and the scars really show on the fawns. He's still a very handsome boy, though. Most US ex-racers are very good with other dogs, due to the way they're raised. There's such variation in sizes of NGA dogs - - males can be as short as my Zeke, who's only 26" tall (but unusually broad) to 32". The average is about 28". Size is much more uniform in AKC Greyhounds. Has Roy been around other dog breeds much? It's always funny to watch them the first time they meet another breed and realize it's a dog. Thanks for sharing the pictures, and I hope Roy continues to be a pleasant addition to your daycare family. Mustang Sally |

They have an instinctive knack for finding the softest place in the house. It's really kind of uncanny, because they'll find that softest place within minutes of entering a house for the first time in their lives. Roy does look like a biggish Greyhound. Mustang Sally |

I asked that question of his owner when she picked him: No, Roy doesn't meet many dogs so she may continue to bring him here once or twice a week after the regular home dog walker/visitor/pee-er comes back from vacation. It was an eclectic group here today, and Roy got along especially well with Timmy, the CKCS. I don't think that Friday knows that Roy is a dog. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

Most ex-racers not only get along with other dogs, but really enjoy their company, some to the extent that they don't do well at all as only dogs. It was an eclectic group here today, and Roy got along especially well with Timmy, the CKCS. I don't think that Friday knows that Roy is a dog. And vice versa, perhaps. Pictures of Roy with the CKCS would be appreciated. Mustang Sally |
