Default C5 injection

Hi there,

We have a fantastic little Maltese-Chitzu. He's about 18 months old.

The vet keeps saying we need to have him injected once a year with the C5
stuff for protection?

I'm not even sure what C5 does, or what we are protecting against?

Does anyone have any clues? If it is essential then I'll get it done, but
if it's not critical then why go through the extra expense. I'm just
watching my pennies at present.

Its what we can kennel cough in the States and what I think you call canine
cough. If you never plan to board your dog or take him to doggy-daycares or
the like then he doesn't necessarily *need* the C5 but IMO it doesn't hurt
and is absolutely necessary if you're going to have him around alot of other
dogs.
