Default Chihuahua with Hydrocephalus and a few questions.

Hi, im not really sure where to turn to and im scared to death to lose
my little chihuahua. She is 4 years old and we believe she has had it
since birth. she just had both of her back knees operated on and she is
just having a hard time recovering. now the doctors believe she has
Hydoceophalus. The specialist here would not recommend doing surgery or
spending the money to do the CT/MRI. They could not give me any idea of
how long to expect her to live. I understand them not really being able
to but a best guess would of been nice. I have googled it and done
research but nothing still tells me what im looking for our well trying
to find. I guess im just trying to find some hope though i know there
is none. the doctor gave her some medicine's, which may help but it
would only be temporary. they say she doesn't seem to be in pain which
is good but my questions are how long does a dog typically live with
the disease? what kind of pain is involved with it? will the pain or
discomfort be noticable?

as things stand right now she does not have much control when walking
although i do believe a lot of that is still from the surgery. she is
more thirsty from the medicine's. she is panting and breathing heavy a
lot more. but she is staying under close watch. whe just started her on
the medicinces so they really have not had time to take any effect.
anyways any answers would be apperciated. thank you.
