itchy dog--advice please
Hi,
I have a 12 year old chihuahua and he has had skin allergies on and off for years. We have him on a special diet that seems to have all but eliminated the problem for the past couple of years. However, this week he seems to be really suffering. I have given him an oatmeal bath and have given him benadryl for the past 24 hours. It is obvious he is experiencing discomfort (rubbing his nose repeatedly on his pillow, trying to run away from the itch, rubbing his belly across his pillow and at times whining). I'm wondering if there are other things we can try or how long we should wait to see if this will clear up on it's own (it has in the past--just hate to see him suffer)before we take him in. Thanks in advance! M |
