people behavior problem
The world is full of idiots. Mercedes SUV, parked in mostly sun. I
hear a dog crying. Lab pup, maybe 10 weeks old, loose in the SUV, windows each down about 2". 86 degrees today. Too hot in the vehicle. I hope before the police got there, that the puppy had peed and pooped and shredded leather. These are the type of people who you want to lock back into the car once the
police show up and let them sit in the sun for an hour in 86 degree heat. Celeste "Janet B" wrote in message ... The world is full of idiots. Mercedes SUV, parked in mostly sun. I hear a dog crying. I once called 311 (our city's non-emergency services number) in July because some yutz had left his dog in his truck in full sun while he was dining - not just run in and grab it dining, but sit down, order, wait, eat sort of dining - with the windows up all the way, not even a crack to let in some hope of air cirulation. The nice operator on the other end of the phone told me that unless I was prepared to wait for rescue services and take possession of the dog they wouldn't send anyone out. I asked if they'd refuse to send a cop out to take the guy's report after I broke his window to let the dog out, which I told the operator I was prepared to do before I hung up if I wasn't assured someone would come open the truck and issue a misdemeanor summons to the owner whether or not I was prepared to accept custody of the animal. I had a cop in less than 2 minutes. +++++++++++++ Reply to the list as I do not publish an email address to USENET. This practice has cut my spam by more than 95%. Of course, I did have to abandon a perfectly good email account... |

Would have been inclined to skip the announcement, rescue the dog and take it to the shelter had the cops opted out. +++++++++++++ Reply to the list as I do not publish an email address to USENET.
