Labor Q
What is normal for a small dog giving birth....she's been having hard
contractions off and on for several hours w/o producing anything....last night was tiny contractions and bed making, etc. Vet says up to 5 five hours but I'm not sure if that means from the start of hard contractions or the mini ones she was having last night. Don't have the money for an operation but I'll find it somehow if it looks like it'll be required. Just wondering when to start panicking. |

If it's been 24 hours since her temperature dropped, or 1 hour since hard contractions began, it's time to get the vet involved. This doesn't necessarily mean a Cesarean is required, but you need to call the vet NOW. Good luck. Dianne |
