Heck, I'm way up here north of Dallas, and they're saying it
may still be a Category 1 by the time it gets here.

And from the computer models I've seen, at least some of them ("worst
case scenarios") predict that Rita will slow and then *stall* out over
Dallas.

Which means that you could be in for *lots* of RAIN.

Rain, I can deal with. NO PROBLEM. We've been kind of parched
around here, and we're still enjoying triple-digit temperatures.

As long as there isn't any hail or tornadoes in the mix, and as
long as it waits until I can dig the fershlugginer cedar-elm
leaves out of my stupid rain gutters (Friday AM, I promise).

Weren't those the famous last words of about 180,000 New Orleanians
who are currently living somewhere in Texas?

And didn't another famous American once say:

"Be careful what you wish for."

Heh.

Seriously, though: we're not anticipating much of anything this
far north and west.
