Default A Very Good Sign

Hi all,

There has been NO repetition in any shape or form of that one growl. Saskia
has not raised an eyebrow at the baby since, and loves him as utterly as
ever.

Today, she was standing by the sofa gazing down upon her hoard: one
Nylabone, one orange flexible pentagon, a bit of old rawhide, a piece of
blue cloth that came with her from the breeder smelling like the litter and
her mother and which remarkably still survives (it's been washed many times,
of course), and a formerly-meat-filled-but-now-well-polished bone (the one
involved in the Growl Moment).

After a moment, she started trying to choose which one to pick up. Walter
came over to the couch and muscled his way between her shoulder and the arm
of the chair and tried to reach for the things (we make sure they stay at
the back where he can't reach them).

Saskia acted exactly like she does when one of us has to do something and
she's in the way--she backed up two steps and watched him a little gloomily
and waited for him to be done. I praised her through the roof, and from her
reaction she knew what she'd done right (she has different reactions for
praise, depending, and her favorite is when she's praised for Correctly
Figuring Something Out).

Of course I removed Monkey Man and let her go back to selecting her
Chew-of-the-Day. It was the rawhide--right now she's rolling on it.
