Hello Don,

Yes, indeed. We're all on the same path
tripping over the same stumbling blocks
and falling into the same pitfalls.

I have had to killfile about 10 user id's so far
and I guess that most of you have done the same.

Yes, The UNMENTIONABLE WON. He's DEAD. He NEVER
existed. He was a figment of our collective vivid
corrupt imaginations.

There are probably only one or two kooks
that account for hundreds of stupid posts.

Incorrect. There are hundreds of "stupid"
people who account for all the myths which
perpetuate our human pain fear and suffering.

I have two Yellow Lab pups, both female, 14 months
old and a Black lab/Setter mix, male, 11 years old.

That's irrelevent. A dog is a dog as a child is a child.

I call the Yellow Labs pups, but
they weigh about 85 pounds.

You've got small-mid size dogs.

All neutered.

You mean they've been surgically sexually mutilated.
That causes fear and mistrust which are the root of
all temperament and behavior problems.

I know that Labs are famous for chewing,

As children are famous for picking their noses
till they bleed to get attention for having a
boo boo or wey wey.

but the Yellow Labs are terrors.

As are ALL children.

I tried to keep them outdoors on the patio,

Because like the rest of us, you couldn't TRUST
them to comport themselves apupriately.

but one developed a nighttime habit of barking

Barking is a SYMPTOM of FEAR and ANXIETY.

at the stray raccoons, possums, etc.

They're FASCINATING.

at night so we tried to bring them in at night

So you must have to confine them because as
ALL Labradors, THEY LOVE TO CHEW.

and let them sleep in the laundry room.

Because you cannot TRUST them in your house
because ALL Labradors LOVE TO CHEW.

One of them chewed up the door trim and made quite a mess.

Of course, THAT'S the NATURE of the Labrador.

I replaced it and my wife wiped Tabasco
on the trim and they let it alone.

Aversives NEVER trains behavior problems,
they only cause them to get worse or change
to OTHER, often worse, seemingly non related
behaviors as TRAINsfer or anxiety relief
mechanisms.

After about 2 weeks, we cleaned the Tabasco off
and the same night one of them ate the door trim
again.

Naaah?

They are now back outside.

Because you couldn't CON-FINE them to a safe room
because ALL Labradors LOVE TO CHEW.

Has anyone had any luck

INDEED. I walked into the casino with my
last two dollars and put it down as I got
my free drink and walked out with $150.00
after dropping back a hundred to the house.

keeping their dog away from things
that they shouldn't chew on?

Like racoons and opossums.

I want something that is not noticeable
but effective and naturally safe.

You mean to avoid the PROBLEM?

Here is a photo of the two Yellow Labs.

A dog is a dog.

There are quite a few other shots of them at
the site and clicking on 'next' will let you
scroll through them.

No thank you, time is money. I have no time to
enjoy the pleasure of admiring your destructive
neurotic dogs or children.

I think they are gorgeous and very lovable.

INDEED. Ain't they ALL?

Don D.

Good luck finding a solution to the problem.

Yours,
Shame Griefanfrustration.
