Do you not practice such things in class? It should be a part of any normal pet manners class. Sounds like you need to find a better quality instructor. -- Diane Blackman There is no moral victory in proclaiming to abhor violence while preaching with violent words. http://dog-play.com/ http://dogplayshops.com/ |

Tieing some dogs makes them aggresive. Is there a reason you need to tie him
out? I would suggest getting a good fence and let him run the yard unless he gets out. Some behaviors are because the dog needs an outlet. Gina "Aimee S" wrote in message ... I'm sorry, I should have explained better, I talking about when I have to hold him still, like to give him a pill, or when he was at the vets to be fixed, he had a FIT when they tryed to hold him down to give him a shot. A few months ago, I wanted his hips checked, he had to be held still for x-rays, he growled and tryed to bite them because he can't stand to be held still. |

ok sorry about that. =) Have you tried getting him to sit and lay first.
Being he is only 5 months old you still have time to train him to listen to these commands. Once you get the basic commands down it should be easier to handle him. The more you handle your pup the better he will get about being handled. I have a friend that had a pup that would not let you trim her nails. She would snap and bite every time. So I told her to handle her paws everyday not just for trims. In two months she could handle her dogs feet without a problem. So see if you can get him to learn sit, lay and gently run your hands over him and gently put hand pressure on him and see what areas set him off. He could be getting over stimulated with all the noise and people during these times and feels insecure. My old girl will lay anywhere I tell her too even at the vets, for shaves and all that, but she's 9. Good luck and keep working with him. Gina "Aimee S" wrote in message ...
