Hi all,

We've got an older dog here who's always been fine in letting us know
when she needs to go outside to do her business (and at holding it
overnight) - never had any trouble with her.

Then a couple of weeks ago we got an 8 week old puppy, so are going
through the housebreaking process with the usual accidents now and
again.

Trouble is, the last two days the older dog's seen fit to poop and pee
in the house a few times. Each time it's either when we've been out for
a short time, or overnight when we're sleeping. Doesn't seem to matter
whether she's in the same room as the puppy or whether they're seperated
though.

Is this likely a territorial thing? She's lived with other
(housetrained, though) dogs before in the past though.

Or maybe something along the lines of "the puppy does it, why can't I?"

Perhaps anxiety in that she's feeling sidelined after the puppy's shown
up? (although we've been giving her no less attention than normal)

Or is it maybe just a coincidence and the problems might be a sign of
something warranting a trip to the vet (she's eating / drinking as
normal though and is just as lively as ever)

Thoughts (and solutions!) would be most welcome...
