Default Help: puppy diahorrea / change of food

10 days ago we got our golden retriever puppy (he is 10 weeks old.)
The breeder gave us some of the food he is used to so that we could give him
that during the adjusting-to-a-new-house period and then we should start
mixing it with the brand that we will continue on for the rest of the dog's
life.
I heard it's normal for the puppy to get diahorrea when ou change the food,
but what is a normal length of time for this to continue?

..............not true. Your dog may need changes in diet due to physical
condition, disease, etc. I wouldn't count on feeding the same thing for the
rest of this dog's life.

.........how bad is the diarrhea? Is the dog losing a lot of water in the
stool? If so, I'd go to the vet as puppies can't stand dehydration. It
might not be the food.

Perhaps puppy needs to see a vet. It may not be related to diet, but to
something else, like worms.

In any event, try 1/4 tsp of Kaopectate and watch puppy carefully. If
it doesn't help, there is something else wrong. It could be as simple
as something in the food your dog cannot digest, or that you are
offering some kind of treat that is making puppy sick.

Increased or continued diarrhea will result in dehydration and collapse.
