Hi all looking for opinions.......

Although i like animals I dont have a great love for owning them. Since the
year dot my wife always wanted a dog and used all the excuses ...for the
children / watchdog etc. My wife is not the tidiest around the house and I
could see potential problems with regard to hygene etc if she ever got one.
Anyhow without any consultation she got one for one of the childrens xmas
(about 8 years ago now, a border collie) I was livid but to be honest it was
cute and the child loved it, and to be honest I love the damn thing myself!.

However there are all sorts of problems, I said at the time look after it
well ..walk it feed it and keep the house clean (of dogs) and I will go
along with you. Now she moans if she has to take it a walk, it gets fed
irregular unless I do it, it is at home all day on its own, most days it is
12 hours inside before it is let out (we both work) and the house is covered
in dog hairs, including the bedroom. if it is taken out a walk ( and I do
take it out some nights) and its raining it comes in and shakes the water
all over the walls. She loves the dog but I am concerned for the dogs
welfare. we argue about this all the time but I reckon she could be acused
of maltreating the dog (unless I intervene to feed etc)

To make matters worse we inherited a cat (they get on ok) but thats all over
the place and you cant leave food anywhere or its in about it, and it
ocassionaly urinates in the house. but wife never puts food away to stop
access.

I do like animals but I am at my wits end with all this, although it might
come across wrong in this posting I am not an overly fussy person. i just
feel now that i am suffering as a result of my wife negelecting her duties
as a pet (s) owner, and also the dog is suffering. I go to work in a suit
covered in dog hairs (yuk)

opinions would be welcome.

You probably ought to rehome the dog, but I'd say you have bigger
problems than that. Your marriage sounds pretty shaky - your wife
is either lazy and inconsiderate, or you've seriously mischaracter-
ized her. Neither alternative is good.

Find a good home for the dog, then check out a marriage counselor
for the rest of it. Good luck.

I think you're a soc.men troll. But anyway.

Who is responsible for most of the housework and yard work?

No its its not a troll.

I do my share of housework and all the yard work, but thats going off topic.
The issue was regarding the dog as my wife does not want to part with it V I
think it would be better off rehoused.
