Recently I've been entertained by the extreme differences of
behavior between both Sheps when I apply the identical head
fondle on them.
The head fondle is when I place both hands on either side
of their face, and gently rub my hand back and forth and
at the same time use a small left to ride back and forth movement
and talk to them softly in my "you're the bestest dog in the
world" voice.
Mojo goes all dreamy instantly. His eyes half close, his mouth
opens into a shep smile, tongue out, tail gently waving or thumping
for a minute then he gets into it so much the tail goes limp.
Eventually he'll flop over completely relaxed and ready for either
sleep or belly rubs.
Luke, OTOH, is a hoot. He begins to moan, groan and wiggle. Out of
four GSDs he is the most vocal one I've _ever_ had.
He gets extremely talkative and "speaks" to me in whines of varying
pitches of aroos, mumphs, and arrrs. He begins to gently lick my face and
starts to get really wired for a bit. Eventually he squirms around enough
so he can flop his front foot over to hook my wrist so I won't quit. He
hangs onto it as long as he can then he gets ready to "assume the
position" which around here means: Belly Rubs! Let the Belly Rubs begin!

Taffy is somewhat different as well, she falls asleep with her head
on my hand expecting me to stay there and hold it while she's
sleeping.

What? This IS what passes for entertainment around here!

Terri
