Update on Mikey (missing digit)
Hi...............
Thank you all who responded & help me understand what the condition could have been. Mikey does not have cancer. Or does he have fungus or bacterial infection. His path report was clear. Now as for the missing digit the vet has no clue why it's missing. But did say if he starts limping with pain again he wants to remove the whole toe. I am not discarding that solution but if his life is not in danger by reason of infection my thought is why not remove just the toe nail. Reason I say this after the first mishap the nail was filed down. Therefore very short. He was fine & showed no discomfort. By the time the second mishap that nail had grown. If the digit is missing & with the now longer nail & active as he is it had to bother him a lot. Probably put good amount of pressure on it. So my theory is to remove it completely. Thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Diane |
