Default What breed(s)?

We met this puppy at a shelter, and hopefully she'll be coming home
with us on Monday. The only thing is, we'd really love to know what
breed(s) she is.
The shelter is guessing at German Shepherd crossed with who knows what
.....
The photo isn't too clear, but you should at least get an idea of the
markings, face and ear shape, etc.
Here is the link to the photo:

I really hope someone will be able to help - everyone keeps asking us
what breed she is, and we can't keep saying "we have no idea"!!

Thanks in advance.

I think you'd be safe saying Shepherd mix (you can tell people anything and
they'll most likely believe it). She looks like a sweety.
Good luck with her.

I'm assuming the pup is roughly 8 weeks old and from this photos, she's
going to be a modest-sized dog - not toy sized but she has nowhere near the
bone and size of an 8 week old GSD pup. She's a dainty little thing. In
fact except for the coloring, I don't see any GSD in her. And I don't see
any other obvious breed(s) either. My prediction is that in a year, you'll
have a 25 lb Classic All American (I've never figured out how to read
headers so I'm making a wild guess you're writing from the US).

BTW, if I understand it correctly, her coloring will change - the black will
recede and she'll end up mostly tan with a possibly black saddle and some
black tipped hairs. I'm sure Liisa, our Goddess of Canine Genetics will
graciously correct me if I'm in error on this.

I'm not going to play this time, sorry. I see two human hands holding
something dark, and that's that. Too old computer screen combined with not
that sharp eyes.

"Shepherd mix" would be better.

Definitely some German Shepherd in her. She looks very sweet.
