Moogli playing with Emilie
Moogli has always been very reserved around Emilie. Not really wanting to
interact with her but always willing to sniff the back of her head or her butt when she wasn't paying attention. Lately, now that she has started pulling herself up and standing by holding onto the sofa, his interest has changed and he is starting to see her as something other than "what the hell are you??" Like all babies, she has learned to drum on things. She has also learned that dumming on the sofa will get Moogli all worked up and acting funny. (play bowing, jumping forward and back trying to catch the hand, etc...) Last night, for the first time, Moogli initiated the play with Emilie. He was up on the sofa, and when she started pulling herself up, he immediately went into a playbow and started inviting her to play like he does with us. Growling, wagging his tail, jumping forward and back. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. Another thing he does that is quite cute is that he has become quite a reliable indicator of when Emilie is really unhappy. Whenever she is crying (and not tears of frustration but of pain) he will cry with her. -- Marcel and Moogli http://mudbunny.blogspot.com/ |

Moogli playing with Emilie
Marcel,
Where is the link to all the cute pictures of Moogli and Emilie playing like this? I'm sure it was just an, ahem, oversight that you didn't put it in your post. Beth |

It is actually difficult to get pictures of the two of them like that. Any movement we make causes one or the other to lose interest in each other and look at us. It also really surprised us as it was the first time Moogli has offered to do so. We will keep the digital camera closer though to try to get a picture. -- Marcel and Moogli http://mudbunny.blogspot.com/ |
