Since the group is slow, this is a good time to ask the advice
of those more artistically inclined than I. I've redone my daycare business card (mostly because it was time, but also because I bought a new domain): http://www.calgarydogdaycare.com/card.jpg Comments--which bear in mind that I'm totally artistically challenged--are welcome. Revamping the entire CalgaryDogDaycare.com webpage is my next project. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

The human and dog figures remind me of petroglyphs (no pun intended), and if the entire graphic was converted to gray scale with a slate-y sort of background you'd get a sort of prehistoric graffiti look. That kind of completely and utterly disqualifies me, but here's a non-aesthetic thing, and that's that Rocky's Gallery didn't work for me. Firefox 1.5.0.1. Also, it might be nice if you could click on the logo in the upper lefthand corner or the calgarydogdaycare.com on the upper righthand corner and have it take you to the home page. Mostly because that's how so many others work. It's a great website, though - particularly the writing. -- Melinda Shore - Software longa, hardware brevis - Prouder than ever to be a member of the reality-based community. |

rec.pets.dogs.behavior: I think it looks pretty cool. I like the little stick guy and the stick dogs. Thanks! Each piece of clip art was individually grabbed from somewhere (I paid attention to royalties and copyright), though I'll take credit for putting them together. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

I love the stick figures. I would add your real first name somewhere on the card, maybe by the number, like "ask for Matt" or something simple like that. It makes it seem more personal (which is what I would look for if I needed a dog daycare). |

Most of my clients' humans are female, though, and it seems to me (correct me on this) that many women aren't keen to phone unknown men. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

I don't think you necessarily need to put your first name on the business cards. I know it's a different sort of business, but we don't put names on ours. It might be different if you had a whole slew of employees (I'm assuming that neither Rocky nor Friday answers the phone). Cute cards, BTW. I like the stick figures too. Mustang Sally |
