Saskia is OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got back. Must eat something (anything, now!) and then go get my
toddler. BUT-- SHE'S OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'll fill in more detail later, but basically they did some in-depth x-rays and got specialists in and the metatarsal on that side is bigger than on the other side, and they think she must have bumped it or something at some point and it's developed something akin to a granuloma. NOT cancer. I repeat, NOT cancer. He did say that if it starts growing again or something I should phone immediately, that I am to check it almost daily, and that I should call him back in a month to discuss whether or not anything has changed. They also detected a heart murmur so we popped her in for an ultrasound and they found nothing to worry about. WHEW!!!!! --Katrina |

Saskia is OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, everyone. She's here blissfully asleep on her bed in the sun after
the ordeal and subsequent run in the park and big meal. I'm just so glad she's OK. She was very good, too--she went right into all the rooms for me (she can be such a scaredy-cat at the vet's) and she held still for examinations and went with the x-ray and then the ultrasound technicians with nary a murmur--then came back to me when it was time dragging them along like leaves that got stuck to her leash, with them with their arms stretched out and them making puffing noises and looking quite red in the face, trying to pretend they were jogging by choice... There were some serious tail-whipping incidents too, once she got to me. --Katrina |

It's a truly wonderful feeling when a big scare turns out to be something "mostly harmless," isn't it? Elizabeth, grinning at the computer screen like a fool |
