Default new addition!

hey kids, long time no post. i've been trying to pay attention to
work, so uninstalled my newsreader. :-)

but this time i have news i just have to share! Manu has been doing
fine as an only dog, in fact he seems to have lost nearly all of his
bad traits once he got away from Lola. so i didn't plan on getting
another addition so soon, but...

i recently met an adorable red pit girl. she had been found as a stray
with a horribly mangled front leg. it was amputated at the shoulder
when she came in to the shelter, about a month ago. when i met her, it
was love at first sight. they think she's about a year old, and she
has that pit puppy enthusiasm... constantly wagging whip of a tail,
sloppy tongue that never stops kissing, and the constant desire to
climb in your lap. she was obviously someone's pet, she knows sit,
down, stay, walks nicely on a leash, and automatically sits for treats.
i'm so glad i found her, she seems to be fitting perfectly into the
household. she immediately had no problem with the stairs, though she
goes slower down than up.

i took my time introducing her to Manu, but honestly he doesn't even
seem particularly interested in her. he'll play for a bit, then wander
off. i'm kind of surprised at this, but i'm very happy that they're
getting on so well. he even lets her steal his favorite toys. nothing
at all like the constant power struggle with Lola.

she kind of whines when she's laying down, especially out of my sight.
i'm not sure if this is because her amputation site is bothering here
(she's a bit testy if manu noses that area) or if she's just needy.

anyway, my new tripod is named Trinity, and you can find some pix he

Congrats and I hope the two dogs continue to do well together. I've always
been a sucker for a 3-legged dog. They amaze & inspire with their ability
to adapt and still have a full, fun and active life.
