Herding in Nova Scotia
Hi Everyone,
As you may know, the NorthShore Dog Club has hosted 2 successful herding clinics. You can see some of the results he http://www.stellarbordercollies.com/dogclub/results.htm We are anticipating holding more but we are looking to see if there is any more people out there who are interested. These clinics would probaby be held in August-October. This is for people who want to teach their dog the art of herding. Attendees have included border collies, Australian Shepherds, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Kelpies and more. Ages ranged from 9 weeks to 8 years of age. Herding is great for anyone who wants to see the kind of instinct that your dog has. Sometimes they start right away, and sometimes they take 3-4 sessions to get "turned on to sheep". We use both sheep and ducks for herding, and it really is a "no pressure" situation. The cost is $25 a dog and that enables your dog to herd up to 5 times that day. You can write back to the list or privately at Hope to hear from anyone interested. Regards, Terry |
