Dog swims in pool like the kids but goes after the kids
Hi,
I am no expert on Chesapeake's but I did own one for 10 years. I rescued her from an animal shelter. She was a year old and her and her litter mate were at the shelter. I consider myelf an experienced trainer in obedience, but that was the one and only dog I could not control. She was not aggressive, but she chewed up everything she could get her teeth on. She ate the dashboard in my car (foam rubber). I suggest you take the advice of the people that have posted here who are knowledgeable about the breed and run don't walk to get a professional trainer. I always dismissed her behavior as some genetic bizarre malfunction but have later learned that it is certainly not a breed for a novice and I certainly was. I loved her none the less. I wish you the very best of luck. Be Free, Judy |
