My 11 year old Addisionian female has had joint problems for a while
now. We have been managing well for several years with MSM complex
joint formula.

........What else is in there - glucosamine? Do you give any fish oil?

Healthy dog, but the joint problem as of late is
getting more severe. She has hip dysplasia and (I suspect) the pred
that she has been on for some 10.5 years now may have contributed to
general weaking of her bone/muscles

........Yes, most likely. I had an Addisonian lab - dxed at 10 and lived to
14 1/2. What helped her most is acupuncture. Relief is remarkable but
transitory. Adequan injections might also help at this point. There's a
lot of nutraceuticals and herbs you can try. Here's a website that lists
some of them: http://www.dogaware.com/arthritis.html

.......Do you belong to any kind of online K9 Addison's group?

Well if nsaids are out of the question right now I would go with the
accupuncture. Something else I read about was Wobenzyme supplements. I
have never used them on my dog but have seen postings where others have and
they say it helps with the pain.

In extreme cases you can give both the pred and the nsaid but it's very
risky and something I would do only as a last resort. I remember someone
else mentioning they had to do this but along with it the vet prescribed
prescription carafate for the dogs stomach.
