Default My new puppy came home with Sarcoptic Mange.

I just got a new puppy yesterday from what I thought was a reputable
breeder. I noticed that she was itching and scratching a lot. The vet
said he suspects she has sarcoptic mange, even though her skin scrape
came back negative. I have another dog that I am terrified is going to
get it too. I treated them both yesterday with Revolution. Has anyone
had success with treating scabies in this way? What are the chances my
other dog will get it? Also, how should I treat my house...she has only
been here for about 24 hours...so do you think my house is infested?

If you felt there were indications your breeder was responsible,
and the only thing weighing against that conclusion is the itching,
by all means call him or her. I have no experience with sarcoptic
mange, but it sounds as though the diagnosis is uncertain. Maybe
the breeder knows something that can help.

How to treat your dog and your home, and the danger to your other
dog, are all things I would have expected your vet to address. Maybe
you could call him/her and ask those questions.
