How *Not* to Housebreak a Puppy
This sounds like one of those people who should never be allowed any
sort of control over other living things. Not to equate killing a dog with yanking a child around by his shirt collar, but I'm boggled that animal cruelty carries a higher maximum sentence than domestic violence. from: http://suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-dog23.html "Angry because a 7-month-old Chihuahua urinated on the rug, a northwest suburban man grabbed the 4-pound puppy by the neck and threw it against a bedroom wall so hard the pet died of its injuries, Cook County authorities said Tuesday. The man's two young stepchildren witnessed the violence against their puppy, "Kendrick," late last week in the family's Hanover Township home, Cook County sheriff's police said. Afterward, John W. Meyer ordered his 12-year-old stepson to clean up the dog's urine -- then allegedly yanked the boy's shirt collar so hard he briefly choked the youngster, authorities contend." -- Shelly (Warning: see label for details) http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

The man should have also been charged with assault for almost choking his son. It is good to see that animal abuse is being sentenced in the courts. Criminal that the incident with the child was not addressed and sentenced also. Mirelle |

How *Not* to Housebreak a Puppy
When I tried to report an incident of animal abuse, the police
officers' response who came out was, "It's a dog, who cares". I wish they would charge people in my area. |
