Default poodle color change?

I recently adopted a poodle from a breeder. She is solid red, except a
few furs on the chest is white. The breeder says it will turn to red
when the puppy (she is 9 weeks now) grows up.

Is it true? My neighbor's son has a spot of white hair since his birth.
He is 16 now, and it's still white. :P

It is normal that colored ares get slightly larger and white patches
slightly smaller when a pup grows. Few white hairs on chest will most
likely disappear totally, and a coin/sized spot might turn into few white
hairs.

(I guess that you actually bought that pup, and didn't adopt it..)

Human pregnancy is much longer than dog pregnancy, and so it is possible
that the human color is more ready when a baby is born. And that white hair
spot might be caused by some other mechanism than the white chest spot your
pup has.
