Default Dogs in films, The Captain from Castile

Hi,
does anybody know which breed of dogs appear in this film?
Director: Henry King, starring: Tyrone Power.
The scene where the dogs appear is at the house/mansion of the father of
Tyrone Power.
Thanks for any help,
John

Hi John,
I've no idea 'cos I haven't seen the movie but try joining Turner Classic
Movie message board, if the link above doesn't work cut and paste to get on
one line.
Let us know if you find out the kind of dog that was in the film.

Hi Again, I joined the TCM site and asked;someone suggested a Great Dane.
Was it a short haired dog? Did it attack the girls?
Is that any help?
Diana

Hi Diana,
There was two dogs, it was not the ones that attacked the girl. It was later
at the house of the father of Tyron Power. They were short haired and light
in colour and appeared to have cropped ears.
Thanks again John

Diana, I had a look at mastiff and don't think it is a mastiff, although the
colour is similar.
Bye John

John, "The Captain of Castile" is not available at my video store so I'll
never know what the dog is, unless you find out g
That's some commute you have! Good luck if discovering the answer.
