Default Missing dogs

No, they aren't missing, they're all right here. I was on a non-dog
vacation last week though, and the only thing good about them not
being there was the ability to sleep late! I missed them a lot!

We got home yesterday afternoon and there was definitely mutual glee
about the arrival (they told me the petsitter didn't feed them or play
with them, but I know they tend to bend the truth!). It was ccccold
in here though, as the petsitter hadn't turned on the heat and the
outside temp had plummeted. This resulted in not just turning on the
heat, but having a lovely fire in the woodstove last evening as well.
All 5 pets were clustered around us - Rudy smack in my lap (ok, he's
the largest pet in the household, but he's a total lap dog!). I had
gone a week without dog hair covering my clothes, but one Golden
Retriever in the lap of black cordouroy pants, and everything is back
to normal!

A few other things we could accomplish without dogs to care for - a
trip to NYC to see Letterman (he reimbursed me for my sweatshirt and I
have an invitation to submit a tape for audience show and tell), the
MoMA, and a long drive back in the pouring rain.

We made a trip to Philly as well, to see the Barnes Foundation museum.
If anyone lives in the general area and has not been, it's a 2 month
advance ticket purchase, but so worth planning for - what a fabulous
museum.

Very few good things about being without the dogs, but we enjoyed them
and are happy to be back home with our lap dogs!
