WHY
When people are trying to learn, why is it, that some people have to
get nasty, Were any of you learning at one time, or do you know it all, already. or are you still learning, too. Do you think, that people can give advice, and be helpful, without the nasty . I think so, thanks |

I think so, thanks It seems the number one reason people get "nasty" in their responses is because the OP doesn't want to except the facts. Most folks remain civil, when faced with stupidity. But when the OP insists that things must be their way--No Way!, learned folks tend to get bored and annoyed. Many of them just walk away, while others fire back. Personally, sometimes I feel like wasting my time, and sometimes I don't. An OP who already knows the only answer they are going to accept shouldn't bother asking here. IMHO. I pity anyone who stops trying to learn, Ever! ___________________________ Don't sweat the small stuff--and most of it is small stuff. :-) |

I think so, thanks I agree Dee, we are all on this forum to learn from others and divulge our personal experiences with our pets. Whether we be experienced or not, we should all respect what others have to contribute (spammers/lunatics excluded!). |

Even sages sometimes make errors; and lunatics have been known to spout a rare pearl of wisdom. How do you determine just who is a lunatic? ___________________________ You have to love the sound of the line, more than you love the sound of your own drum.--Drumline |

Where, excluding "spammers/lunatics", on this newsgroup, has anyone been nasty? I've just scrolled back through what my news server retains and see nothing of the sort. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

Well it may be in error in your eyes but not in others. You will note from the forums that everyone has different opinions on topics and someone else's may differ from yours - does that mean they are in error? I won't name the resident lunatic/spammer but I think we all know who he is. |

Someone in a different group suggested that people label their comments as "experience", "established fact", "theory" and so forth. I truly like that idea, but it is far easier said, than done. Even when someone I trust states something that is unfamiliar to me, I don't accept it until I've verified it via Merck and/or other recognized veterinary authorities: usually vet schools at major universities or veterinary medicine professional sites. Until I verify it, I consider it opinion; and we all have those. :-) ___________________ A dog's life is too short; their only fault really. |
