Recommendations needed - good ortho (ACL) surgeon in So Cal
I posted a message last month about my 4 1/2 year old lab, who
tore a ligament. I've been trying CM for the past month and, though she is a bit better, she still avoids bearing weight on the injured leg and I've decided to take her in for ACL surgery. I live in Ventura County and have seen a few vets up here, but I'd appreciate referrals to other good surgeons in So Cal by others whose dogs have had this operation. I'm looking for a vet with a good reputation, lots of experience with this procedure, and who'll be more interested in my dog's well being than the financial benefit he'll derive. Thus far, I've been quoted $2 to $4k, whereas other folks online have mentioned prices significantly lower (perhaps in other parts of the country), with good results. I'll spend what it takes, but want to avoid paying more than I need to, if there's no difference in the end result. From my reading, the traditional method sounds like it would be fine for my dog, though I'm willing to see vets that also do TPLO and TTA. Thanks in advance. |
