He says he will not live with a dog that big. I said I would not live with a lab or a golden. It's a chesapeake, or nothing. Since we are at an impasse, are there runt-skin chesapeake lines out there somewhere? There are some little females. I have one; she's between 40 and 45 pounds. It's a breed with a lot of size variation, and a big difference in average size between the sexes. What I don't know is if anyone is producing small ones consistently. My bitch Monday had offspring that were small-to-medium--but she is now spayed. I can ask around on Chesapeake lists--but my guess is that size is always a little unpredictable. Congrats on Tuck's show accomplishments--he must not look as awkward as you think! Amy Dahl |
