Default Puppy pooping ALOT - is this normal?

I have owned dogs before - perhaps it's just been too long since I've
had a puppy though - but our 13 week old Bichon is pooping 5-6 times a
day or so.

Example Day:

6:00am: Wakeup - poop #1
6:15am - Fed
7:15AM - poop #2
9:00AM - poop #3
12:00pm - Lunch/Fed
1:00pm - poop #4 (sometimes)
4:00pm - poop #5
5:00pm - Dinner/Fed
11:00- poop #6 (sometimes - sometimes no poop after dinner... but we
always get a poop first thing in the morning then)

We are feeding her Innova Puppy - her stools are soft - not diarrhea -
but soft. She is currently on a second treatment of deworming.

On another note - is it possible she could have some sort of food
allergy making her poop this much or is this normal? She does seem to
be itchy sometimes - enough that we have noticed (will chew at her
tail, paw, etc...but no red patches, hair-loss, etc.)... however the
vet seemed to think it might just be winter dryness, etc. We have
looked for fleas, etc. but do not spot anything. We are now considering
switching her food to Innova's California Natural Chicken and Rice
Formula in-case it's an allergy thing.

Any thoughts of either of these issues would be appreciated.

I'd say this was pretty much mormal

I disagree. Most dogs (and puppies) will poop as many times as they
eat, give or take one. Your puppy is pooping 2x for every meal. The
morning pooping seems most excessive, but 2 afternoon poops are as
well.

A food change would probably be a good choice IMO. Something that
produces firmer stool (a little trial and error) is the right idea. I
think Innova is often too rich for some dogs. You may try their
California Natural line instead.

That has been my experience. In my case, Innova resulted in
soft stools for Friday when I first got him, even though the
other dogs were fine with it poop-wise. So...

Yep! That worked out particularly well in my situation. Who
knew that Friday's soft stools would be the beginning to an end
of Rocky's siezures.
