Help; my little body guard
I have the sweetest, most loving & docile little mostly Whippet girl
ever. She's ultra smart, loves to do tricks etc. & is a certified Therapy Dog. HOWEVER!!! when we're alone & a neighbor goes by she has a short circuit in her brain & goes from Dr. Jekyl to Mr. Hyde barking & nipping if they get close enough. She is normally the most obedient & bidable of dogs, but goes postal when she sees someone when we're alone. She's gentle as a lamb in a nursing home, at a KPETS picnic with a hundred other dogs & humans I DON'T want any solutions wherein there's any corporal punishment or pain. I'll not harm my little Katie for the world. I get very depressed when she goes into ballistic mode. She's too brave for her own good & I almost had a heart attack at a NH cookout when she stood nose to nose with an 8' crocodile on a leash. Can anyone on his group give me any advice? I'd be most appreciative. Carl (& his problem child Katie) |
