Default Solo thinks Rally is boring

Melanie L Chang implored:
Someone tell me that Rally gets more interesting? Or perhaps let me in
on your favorite motivators? I know all the basic stuff (be more
animated, bring liverwurst) but maybe there are some tricks I can try.
In the meantime, Solo says, "meh."

SheBop, driven in the field until disabled with elbow dysplasia, had a
most un-obedient personality ("Whada u mean do it *again*? Just cut to
the chase and give me the cookie already!"). She got left at home a lot
after she retired.

The biggest motivator was letting her ride along anyway, just for an
outing away from the house, even if it meant she would have to just
watch the other dogs do it (whatever "it" was we were doing, as long
as it wasn't field, which would have been very cruel). Of course,
suddenly she wanted very very badly to also do "it". So I would always
try to give her a chance to do "it" for a few minutes before or after
class. Maybe a few tunnels, or some snappy heeling and a couple of
recalls, always with big huge jackpots (so she'd get as many treats as
the other dogs got in their whole lesson). That also meant that always
she got put back up when she was still high on doing "it". And always
she watched...

Pretty soon she'd practically do back flips when it was her turn to do
obedience. Gives me perfect heads-up attention, even though I never
even taught her attention heeling. She's probably the best off-leead
heeler have now, as a matter of fact. And I swear she either learned it
from watching, or just tries harder than anyone else when she finally
gets a turn.
