Default wimpy snow

But at least we seemed to avoid ice.

It's pretty, but any snow that still has grass poking through, is just
inadequate. As Suja said, there were a ton of accidents from people
who couldn't figure out how to drive in somewhat slippery conditions.

I was at a dog club meeting yesterday and the road outside the parking
lot curves and inclines. Several track marks indicated people had
problems, and the traffic was backed up in one direction, by a van who
couldn't seem to manage the slight hill. Mostly, it was smooth
sailing. Beltway was heavy but moving on my side, parking lot on the
other.

A friend had been out about 45 minutes west of here and he said he
came across a ton of accidents, one happened right in front of him -
SUV flipped completely over and back. He called 911 and the line was
BUSY!

All that for 1" of snow! But around here, they abandon cars for more
than that - sometimes it is just best to stay home and avoid the
loons.

Lucy seemed to have slipped and broken a nail, which I carefully cut
off this morning and she seems a lot happier. Haven't seen or heard a
schoolbus, so I guess that means they've called off school. For a
crummy inch of snow!
