I have often thought that OCD could be the case in some dogs I have
had or at the least boredom and the repetitive motion thing.
My Lab Buck has had itches almost all of his 13 years, but they seem
to have abated in recent years?
Jubal Early chews at himself so much I am convince his is OCD. He
even jumps off of the bed to chew at himself because he knows I am going
to tell him to stop.
The bottom line is that in some cases there may have been a hot spot
or something else there initially and they get going and just can't seem
to stop. NOT all dogs....but I believe it is true of some.
