Default retrieving and restocking

Tuck has been learning over the year to get boots, slippers, and shoes,
distinguish the difference, and simultaneously differentiate between
different rooms of the house. If I tell him for instance to get the boots
from the closet, he runs to the closet and hunts for boots. If I say from
the bedroom, he looks beside the bed, etc and selects from the objects
there.

Today he just figured out how to take them BACK and put them where they
belong when asked. When DH heard me tell Tuck to take my slippers to the
bedroom, and Tuck came trotting in with a slipper, and thunked it down
beside the bed, returned to me, and I gave him the second one, and he
repeated it, my husband yelled, GIVE THAT DOG A COOKIE.. Do you realize
what he just DID?

To me, that was logical progression of skills already learned.
He got my boots for me to go in the snow. I then took off my slippers, put
on the boots, and Tuck put the slippers away.

But to come to think of it, it is Pretty cool.

I wish I could get Lady to do something along this line without destroying
them. She knows what slippers, sneakers & boots are she's destroyed plenty
of them..........LOL. We don't dare let any foot ware down where she dan
get to it or else you end up with sandals because she chews the toes out. I
had a very attractive pair of black boot sandals about mid way through last
winter.

She's getting better she finally quit eating TV remotes.
