When will it ever stop???
I'm probably being way too premature here, but I need advise on how to
handle our new whiney pup. She's a min pin, and is just over 8 weeks old. We brought her home on Saturday. The first night, she cried REALLY LOUDLY for about 15 minutes every hour. We had her in the kitchen - in an x-pen with her crate inside - the crate open. I spent most of the day with her Sunday, but gave her 2 or 3 "alone times" in her crate with the door shut. She cried for a few minutes, but then calmed. Last night, I decided to put her in the crate with the door closed, to limit the stimulation - and because it had worked during the day. Well, she HOWLED for 4 hours straight. I tried making startling sounds, but it didn't phase her. Finally, I opened her crate and gave her access to the x-pen. She still cried all night. I think we're going to go insane. We've ignored her for hours - all the books say that she'll quiet if you leave her. Well, it only seems to get worse. What can we do? 2 nights no sleep is very wearing. We're asking ourselves - what have we done! I'm just about ready to phone the breeder an give her back without a refund. We're both in medical professions, and need to concentrate at work. Should she be in the crate in our bedroom? My biggest worries with that is that we live in a townhome, and we really don't want to get our neighbours angry with her persistent crying. HELP!!! Any advise, tips, suggestions would be welcomed... But HURRY! I don't know how much longer I can go without sleep. B |

You've just gotten a puppy who was taken from a group living situation - with his mom and his litter - and you are leaving him ALONE. That's frightening, especially for a puppy. flick 100785 |

Put a mechanical alarm clock in the box with her, the ticking is a
comforting sound. Cj wrote in message ups.com... I'm probably being way too premature here, but I need advise on how to handle our new whiney pup. She's a min pin, and is just over 8 weeks old.
