a good one to take:

The American Red Cross offers Pet First Aid (which includes CPR)
classes, at least in my area. I've taken it - good class. They have
dog (in various sizes) and cat CPR dummies that you can practice on.

Heh. Much better-looking than the Red Cross dummies (the class favorite
was a particulary scruffy cat that looked as if it had been run over by
a steamroller).
